Super
Super2008 is a
completely free
program for video conversion, that supports an
unbelievable number of audio and video codecs, and
that is able to convert between them with great
facility: 3gp/3g2 (Nokia, Siemens, Sony, Ericsson),
asf, avi (DivX, H263, H263+, H264, XviD, MPEG4),
dat, fli, flc, flv (used in Flash), mkv, mpg (Mpeg
I, Mpeg II), mov(H263, H263+, H264, MPEG4), mp4
(H263, H263+, H264, MPEG4), ogg, qt, rm, ram, rmvb,
str (Play Station), swf (Flash), ts (HDTV), viv,
vob, wmv. Equally, many formats are supported audio
(ac3, amr, mp2, mp3, mp4, mpc, ogg, ra, wav, wma).
Super can also perform the conversion between video
avi, for example video created with different codec
(a video created with H.264 and audio AAC can for
example be reconverted in a normal Divx with audio
mp3, playable in any standalone player, or vice
versa).

DVD Flick
DVDFlick is a an open source program very easy to
use, that allows to directly convert various codecs
to DVD (a DVD will be created in ISO format,
supported by any Cd burning software; or you can
even write the DVD directly with DVDFlick). Between
the supported formats they are avi (divx, xvid,
mkv...), MOV, WMV, ASF, FLV and many others (a
complete list is present
here).
DVDFlick does a good work, perhaps not specific as
the work of programs that are exclusively dedicated
to the divx to DVD conversion (like Avi2DVD, The
FilmMachine, D2MP), but nevertheless extremely
useful.
The number of the formats supported is high, and in
certain cases it succeeds in converting some divx
where Avi2DVD or other specific programs fail.
Finished the conversion, we can create an ISO image
or directly burning the DVD. A valid app indeed.
