CD ripping and encoding apps


	EAC (Exact Audio Copy) What can we say about EAC? It is not the best, but the ONLY application that is able to rip audio tracks from CD with absolute quality. Many other apps make a good work (like those in this page), but EAC makes it perfectly. For all people that consider themselves obsessed from audio quality this is forced choice, though setting up is more difficult compared to others (you should lose on it a few minutes, while other apps generally work immediately). download RATING: EXCELLENT


	CDEX CDex is an oOpen Source application for ripping audio tracks from CD, simple to understand and to use. It is not perfect as EAC, but it is immediate and makes a good work. You can even convert from an audio format to another quite easily. Perhaps CDEX is a bit crushed by the competing apps (EAC for accuracy and DBPowerAMP for features), nevertheless it finds its space between people who likes simplicity: converting a CD Audio in mp3 is very easy. download RATING: VERY GOOD


	DBPOWER AMP MUSIC CONVERTER Similar to CDex, also it allows to rip and encode: you can extract and convert an audio CD in a digital format (WAV, mp3, ogg, etc.). It is fast t(much more than EAC and CDex and on the same line of Easy CD-DA Extractor. Certainly, who uses EAC does not worry him about some about minutes more...). DBPOWER AMP converts fine from an audio format to another (mp3, wma, mpc, ape, ogg, aac, etc.) and it also has a good player for our pc. If you want to convert in mp3, you should search the web for the old version 9 or previous (in the latest versions, encoding to mp3 is not free anymore), otherwise you can extract in WAV, and then convert in mp3 (or other) with other audio converters. download OVERALL: VERY GOOD


	EASY CD-DA EXTRACTOR (shareware) Great app to extract CD and convert audio tracks from a format to another. Fast, good quality, and very simple to use. Updated with great frequency, it is extremely valid. It allows to extract CD in the format that we want (type mp3, ogg, mpc, wma, wav, mpc, ape - MonkeyAudio, etc.), or to convert from a format to another (however the extraction of EAC stays unbeatable, this is clear). It also supports the .cue format (that is the audio files in unique track). It also allows to write CD Audio from all the codecs that it supports. The limit? It is not free, since it costs around 30 dollars (in any case it grants free updates for life)... download OVERALL: EXCELLENT
