Macro
Maker MacroMaker allows you to create
macros or recordings to automate
most anything that you already do by
hand. It has been written more for
people who regularly use computers,
rather than the casual PC user. Most
anything you know how to do by hand
can be translated into a macro or
recording in MacroMaker.
If
you are having to perform repetitive
tasks, this program will help you
out a lot. The user can simulate a
series of keystrokes, mouse events,
play back previous recordings of
keystrokes and mouse events or
execute some built-in functions with
just a keystroke. You can even store
content from the clipboard in
internal MacroMaker buffers for
later use.
Good, and free, but in some cases
not 100% accurate.

Autohotkey
Open source program of great value, that allows to
perform very complex repetitive operations, through
a quite simple language (it would be also possible
recording the mouse movements, but in this case the
results become unpredictable). If you are able to
learn the simple commands for creating the necessary
script, you can succeed in practically everything.
In comparison to AutoMate it doesn't disfigure.
AutoMate certainly has advantages in the graphical
user interface (that in AutoHotKey it doesn't
exist), and some routines are already built-in
(comfortable thing undoubtedly), nevertheless
AutoHotKey is completely free, and with some initial
effort (you must read the documentation, this is
essential the first times) it is almost possible to
reach the same results.

AutoMate builds tasks

monitoring, SQL database
transactions, email
notifications, self healing
systems, autonomic computing,
batch data processing, data
transformation, integration of
disparate systems.
It works great, and learning to
use it is not very difficult
(after a few hours you should be able
to create quite complex tasks),
and very accurate.
AutoMate is probably the leading
application for macro/automation
software... anyway it is quite
expensive...
