Free
Commander Very nice application that
allows you to copy, move, display
files etc on two separate windows.
Very similar to WinNc (although with
less functions), works well and uses
only few computer resources.
It is
worth considering for those who just
need to move, rename etc.
(especially given that it is
completely free).

xplorer2 lite
Despite this is the reduced version (free for
personal use) of a program with greater
functionalities, xplorer2 lite is a very interesting
and rich of functions file manager, very useful for
who has to manage big quantities of files (for
example moving them from a partition to another, or
from a hard disk to the another or
copying/erasing/syncreonizing/dividing a lot of
files, etc.).
The graphical user interface is beautiful, and but
not customizable (only in the shareware version)
In spite of the limitations in comparison to the
shareware version, I consider xplorer2 lite the best
free file manager..

Rename
Lupas
Rename is a program developed to
rename a few or a massive number of
files with a lot of features.
It is a simple .EXE file (250Kb) and
doesn't need any other external
libraries. Main features are:
PREVIEW (incredibly useful), rename
files and folders, convert to
upper/lower case, autonumber name or
extension, undo, crop chars or
names, and much, much more.

UnlockerUnlocker is a simple
app that can delete files, even when
Windows pop ups with some message
like "this file is in use and cannot
be deleted", without reboot. Is
better than a lot of shareware (and
expensive) apps of this kind.
Very easy to use,
and very effective.
