Directory
Lister
Directory Lister lets you list files in selected
directories on hard disks, cd-roms, floppys etc.
into a HTML, TXT or CSV file (listing). It's like
the DIR command but MUCH more convenient.
After you generate listing, you can
print it on your favorite HP Printer
or Canon Printer maybe.
All you have to do is to launch
generated file with either Internet
Explorer or notepad and then print
it with your printer.

CathyCathy is an extremly small, fast and
easy to use media cataloging tool.
You can use it to index files stored
on removable media (CD-ROMs, LS120,
Iomega Zip and Jaz disks, or even
diskettes), hard disks or net
drives, and create searchable
catalogs that can be used without
having access to original media.
Searching capabilities are based on
file name, date and size.
Additional features include
filtering options, search duplicates
or singles, customizable date
format, etc. Found files can be
opened (executed) or deleted
directly, if they are present.
Drag&drop support. Single file
executable, no install needed.
Not a great GUI (DiscLib is by
far better in this), but anyway a
good app.

DiscLib
DiscLib is probably the best
free program to catalog file and
folders, that can be both inside
the computer, or outside, for
example on external Hard Drives,
DVDs, etc.
We can divide the everything in
various categories, and search
inside them, or also write a
comment (TAG) for everything
that we catalog, so to be able
to subsequently find it through
the function of search.
The graphical user interface is
beautiful, similar to paid
programs. DiscLib portable
(great!), you can install it on
USB units.
Disclib is not immediate, other
cataloguing programs are more
intuitive; nevertheless, if you
spend some minutes to understand
as it works, it is one of the
best application of its kind,
better than most its shareware
competitors.
