Backup files and folders
 

   Cobian Backup

Excellent backup software, which allows you to configure automatic backups (time of day, week etc.) of your chosen files; you can even put them together in a single compact/compressed file. There is also the option of incremental backup (which allows you to add the new stuff without each time having to backup the entire file). It is free and without any spyware or the like. The graphic interface is not great, but you have to be happy with what you've got.

  Handy Backup (shareware)

Handy Backup practically runs all the same functions as Cobian, with the added benefit of a better graphic interface (much better in fact, to the point that it is a real pleasure working with it!) and some more developed and more accessible functions.

For instance, there is the option of encryption at 128 bit. Basically, it is more intuitive and more reliable. However, you obviously have to pay for the difference: Cobian is free, whilst Handy Backup costs about $30.
