	Spamhilator Spamihilator works between email client and the Internet and examines every incoming email. Spam mails are filtered out and automatically placed in trashcan. This process runs completely in the background. In addition Spamihilator uses a Word-Filter, that searches messages for known keywords. Spamihilator works with most email clients: most popular clients (Outlook Express, Thunderbird) are directly supported, but you can configure in a moment even clients (like Foxmail) not directly supported. It is not updated often, but this does not matter, since the spam filters and plugins are regularly updated. download RATING: VERY GOOD


	SpamPAL A valid open source antispam, that has the advantage to immediately work without the need of training. It uses a series of cross recognitions to identify the spam, and a series of more aggressive options can be set up (more it is aggressive, more doubtful messages will be included in the spam, but at the same time with the risk to insert good messages). The reception of the mail becomes a bit slower (for every message are made some controls, according to the selected formulations), and in the case a lot of emails the time to wait can become irritating. Overall a free program that seems commercial, superior (in the number of filters and features) also to shareware competitors, nevertheless... at least in my case, when I used him, despite I had chosen the most aggressive formulations, the recognition didn't go over 80%, and with a non negligible number of "good" mails inserted in the Spam. In other words, despite all the filters and the formulations, I have not succeeded in matching the good results that I have had with SpamBayes. download RATING: GOOD


	SpamBayes Open Source antispam extremely effective. It is one of those programs that, if not carefully tested, are generally ignored: the graphical user interface is zero (the default browser is used for the configuration), few instructions (moreover in English), scarce possibility to use external antispam filters, necessity to train it for hundreds email before it works fine. But then - apart the relative simplicity of configuration, that however constitutes a good point - what has of so much special to deserve the mention? This is probably the best antispam in effectiveness of recognition. Other programs antispams have beautiful graphics, effects, filters, so many useful things. SpamBayes - once trained - misjudges less than the others. download OVERALL: VERY GOOD
