It is
the safety package offereded from AOL to its users
(you need to register to AOL for free).
Regarding the two main competitors, Antivir and
Avast! , this special edition of McAfee contains an
antivirus and a firewall, both of remarkable
quality; I do not know how much this will last, but
until this is offered to us, who wants the safety
can take advantage. Important to notice: who looks
for a light antivirus (like AntiVir and Avast), will
remain disappointed, even if antivirus heavier than
this exist.
We can choose whether install only the antivirus
or the whole packet (included the firewall).
It takes some time to effect the registration to
AOL, necessary to download the program and to
receive the serial for the activation of the same.
In this moment, I consider AOL McAfee Security
centre, from the point of view of protection
the best free antivirus available (anyway, if you
look for a light antivirus, or you have difficulty
to record to AOL, the suggestion is to choose
AntiVir). Very good result achieved in
Antivirus
test 2008.
UPDATE: this was too good
to last. McAfee is no more distributed for free
from AOL.
